Experienced Tracker
Track wildlife, interpret signs of the bush and support guided walks on Oase’s private reserve. Share local knowledge with guests and assist with tours, excursions and transfers.
Oase is a small lodge team in the Greater Kruger, shaped by thoughtful service, curiosity and care for the place. We are looking for an experienced tracker to join our Guides and Trackers team and help create meaningful, personal experiences in the bush.
This is an on-site, full-time opportunity for someone who understands that tracking is about more than finding an animal. It is about reading the landscape, sharing knowledge and helping guests notice the details that make safari memorable.
Responsibilities
-Track wildlife and interpret signs, tracks and the changing conditions of the bush.
-Support guided walking and tracking experiences on Oase’s 530-hectare private reserve.
-Conduct guest transfers safely and punctually, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming journey.
-Lead tours and excursions, sharing local knowledge and coordinating timings and arrangements with the lodge team.
-Share knowledge of the reserve, wildlife and the wider Greater Kruger in a clear, engaging way.
-Help shape flexible, personal experiences around guests’ interests and the rhythm of the day.
-Work as part of the Guides and Trackers team, with care for guests, colleagues and the reserve.
What we are looking for
- Proven experience as a tracker in a safari or wilderness setting.
- A strong understanding of animal behaviour, tracks, signs and the natural environment.
- The ability to communicate knowledge warmly and clearly with guests.
- A thoughtful, observant approach and genuine care for the bush.
- A collaborative attitude and commitment to the standards of a small lodge team.
