Sr Guide
Lead and train the guiding team, oversee veld management, track and care for wildlife, and deliver safe, memorable guest experiences.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Guide to lead our guiding team and support the care and management of the reserve. You will oversee daily guiding activities, develop the team’s skills and contribute to veld management, animal tracking and animal care, while ensuring safe and memorable guest experiences.
Responsibilities
-Manage the guiding team, coordinate schedules and oversee daily activities.
-Provide practical training, mentoring and ongoing support to guides.
-Lead guided experiences and maintain high standards of guest service and safety.
-Assist with veld management, including habitat monitoring and maintenance.
-Track animals and monitor their movements, behaviour and condition.
-Support animal care activities and report health or welfare concerns promptly.
-Ensure guides follow reserve procedures and responsible wildlife practices.
-Communicate sightings, reserve conditions and operational needs to lodge management.
What we are looking for
-Previous guiding experience and the ability to lead a team.
-Relevant guiding qualifications and the required licences and permits.
-Strong knowledge of wildlife, animal behaviour and tracking.
-Practical experience in veld management and animal care.
-A patient, supportive approach to training and mentoring.
-Good communication, organisational and guest service skills.
-A responsible approach to safety, conservation and animal welfare.
