Waiter
Serve meals and drinks, take accurate orders and respond attentively to guests. Prepare dining areas and assist with setups, clearing and service at locations throughout the lodge.
We are looking for a friendly, attentive Waiter to provide professional food and beverage service to our lodge guests. You will take orders, serve meals and drinks, and help create a welcoming, well-organised dining experience.
Working under the supervision of the Front of House team, you will prepare service areas, communicate clearly with the kitchen and assist with clearing and packing away after each service. The role includes supporting dining experiences at different locations around the lodge.
Responsibilities
-Guest service: Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, courteous service throughout their meal.
-Orders and service: Take accurate food and beverage orders and serve meals and drinks promptly.
-Menu knowledge: Understand the menu, daily specials and beverage options, and seek clarification when unsure.
-Dietary requirements: Follow dietary instructions provided by the FOH team, confirm details with the kitchen and communicate any new guest requests before serving.
-Service preparation: Set tables and prepare cutlery, crockery, glassware and service stations.
-Setups and clearing: Assist with setting up and packing away dining experiences, including picnics, private meals and bush dining.
-Cleanliness: Keep tables, service areas and equipment clean, tidy and ready for use.
-Team communication: Coordinate with the kitchen, butlers and FOH team to ensure orders and requests are followed through.
-Guest concerns: Respond politely to concerns and promptly refer issues to the FOH Manager or Assistant FOH Manager.
-Assigned duties: Complete service duties allocated by supervisors and report shortages, breakages or unfinished tasks.

-Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar hospitality role, preferably within a lodge or restaurant.
-Good communication and listening skills, with strong attention to order accuracy and guest requests.
-A willingness to learn menus, service procedures and lodge standards.
-A reliable team player who follows instructions and takes responsibility for assigned duties.
-Good personal presentation, punctuality and a calm manner during busy services.
-A hands-on approach and willingness to assist with preparation, service and clearing.
